Arts Under the Stars is a
summer festival of free arts performances at the
Elizabeth Swan Park, Tilley's Road,
Clarenville. Since Summer 2006,
residents have been enjoying
outstanding performances during July and
August with an eclectic mix of arts
performers, everything from belly-dancing to
story-telling to song-writers!
This year's performances are
as follows:
July 2 - Colleen Power - Winner
of the NL Female and Alternative Artist of the
Year and three-time East Coast Music nominee,
Colleen Power has released several albums to rave
reviews. This solo artist is a gem of a
songwriter!
July 9 - The Novaks - This
three-piece band has just released their highly
anticipated album, Things Fall Apart. This rock
and roll band is hot hot hot!
July 16 - Jim Payne and
Fergus O'Byrne - These Newfoundland legends will
be bring along accordion, mandola, guitars, banjo,
bodhran and concertina. They'll have you
toe-tapping!
July 23 - Open Mic Night -
Hosted by local band OPA, Open Mic Night is all
about sharing your talents! Start practicing!
July 30 - Saddle Hill - It's
Bluegrass time! This group of good old boys and a
gal will get you clapping with banjo, fiddle,
mandolin, guitar and double bass. Finger-pickin'
goodness here!
August 6 - McInnis' Kitchen -
This group is touring the province and making
Clarenville one of its stops. Their musical
influences are Irish and Scottish traditional.
August 13 - Amelia Curran -
Singer-songwriter Amelia Curran is one of this
country's most cherished songbirds. All of her
albums have received critical acclaim. You will be
spell-bound!
All performances start at
7:30 p.m. This year, the indoor location is Clarenville Middle School
. Starting July 1, check out our information
line which will provide details about the line-up
and let you know the location of the show. The

change.
