Clarenville Events Centre
The Clarenville Events Centre (CEC)
is a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose facility featuring regulation ice surface, a 1240-seat arena (with an additional 1000-person standing room capacity), a 200-metre indoor walking/running track, a 278 soft-seat (total capacity of 433) arts theatre, as well as meeting facilities and concession areas.
The CEC’s strategic location makes it extremely attractive for a multitude of special events, tournaments, meetings and conventions. The arena and theatre, combined with the exceptional number of patrons using the walking/running track and meeting rooms, has created phenomenal interest in the venue. This level of activity has established the CEC as a true regional multi-purpose facility.
The combination of facilities, driven by the region’s residents embracing the facility, has led the CEC to become the busiest multi-purpose venue outside of St. John’s. Real recreation potential starts here!

Clarenville has three well-maintained softball fields with one equipped with lights for night playing. The fields are home to minor softball and recreational slo-pitch softball. Each year, these fields play a host to a number of tournaments by area residents, school teams and recreational leagues.

Tennis & Basketball Courts
Clarenville provides regulation-size public tennis and basketball courts in the centre of town. The courts are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and court usage is free.
In the summer of 2006 Clarenville officially opened a new soccer pitch located behind the Clarenville Middle School. The pitch, which is home to the Minor Soccer Association, can accommodate three soccer games with regulation size nets simultaneously. It is surrounded by a 400 meter asphalt track. Cheer on your team while taking a stroll!

Skate Board Parks
The Clarenville skateboard parks, located on Legion Road and Riverside Playground, have something for everyone regardless of age or skill level. The parks are paved and include rails, quarter pipes and ramps. The hours are daylight hours only and admission to the parks is free.
